Investing in the communities where we live and work
Onward Energy supports organizations that strengthen the communities around our sites — from environmental stewardship and energy assistance to education and local causes. If your organization is making an impact near one of our sites, we'd love to hear from you.
What we fund
Our organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in our communities We provide funding for environmental initiatives, energy-cost assistance programs education and workforce development, and addressing the needs of local communities. Together, we can create a sustainable future while empowering those around us.
Who we fund
We prioritize organizations that:
• Have a measurable environmental impact
• Provide energy-cost assistance to families in need
• Advance education and workforce development
• Directly benefit the communities where we operate
To be eligible, your organization should:
• Be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit or equivalent (schools and government entities welcome)
• Provide a valid Tax ID (EIN) and a completed W-9
• Serve a community connected to an Onward Energy site or region
We are unable to fund individuals, for-profit businesses or personal fundraisers, political campaigns or partisan activity, or requests that create a conflict of interest.
How we fund
We review donation requests twice each year to ensure we can thoughtfully invest in the communities where we operate.
Requesting $1,000 or more? Apply during one of our two annual funding cycles:

November 1 – February 1 → Awards distributed in March

April 1 – August 1 → Awards distributed in September
